Frequently asked
questions
-
We design and build custom indoor and outdoor traditional (not infrared) saunas in Middle Tennessee. We also build mobile saunas and we assemble sauna kits purchased from The Sauna Place.
-
There are several variables to determine pricing. Size, location, indoor vs. outdoor, etc. Whatever the situation you will have a detailed estimate prior to starting the project.
-
Again, this depends a lot on the details of the project. Currently, the sauna market is very strong, meaning there may be a wait time to start a project. Once started, allow 3 to 4 weeks from start to completion for custom saunas. Assembling kits is usually a 3 or 4 day timeline.
-
All are good. Sometimes situations determine which heat source is best. For mobile saunas, wood burning or propane stoves are used as electricity may not be available where the sauna is “parked”. Indoor saunas specify electric stoves. We are happy to visit your location and consult with you about stove options, size, ventilation, interior design, and other features.
-
It took a few trips to Finland to fully understand and appreciate the benefits of sauna bathing and cold plunging. Since then we have built several saunas (electric and wood-burning, interior and exterior) in Minnesota and Tennessee. Attending Rob Licht’s 4-day sauna building workshop in Lansing, New York provided additional knowledge of the finer details of building saunas including insulation, using stainless steel hardware, ventilation, stove options, and bench design.
-
There are several important things when planning for a sauna. Just remember that the key factors to an enjoyable sauna are heat, ventilation, interior design, and community. We work with our clients to ensure that the details, such as size, location, design, bench layout, stove choice, and door and window placements guarantee an enjoyable experience for years to come.
